gas tank question

how come rolands bike has the fuel cap in the rear when on a normal crf its on the front. i know he has an extender but th extender looks like it goes straight up 4 inches but not back

A lot easier to sell a piece of body work from a mold then a custom gas tank, especially when trying to promote a cheap way to race.

but if its just a mold then how does the filler neck go to the back.

It doesn't. That Honda was the first one that was promoted as a 450 single and used a custom metal tank in place of the stock one. The subsequent versions have just used tank covers over the plastic stock tank.
