The GNCC off road racing series always ends it's season in Crawforsdville, IN. Its not only one of the best races on the circuit, but one of the most exciting to watch for spectators due to last round points battle. For the past month I have been focusing all my time and effort into being physically and mentally prepared for this race. A lot of sponsors will be there so I need to make sure i bring my A game. The first two weeks of the month, my training regimen consisted of 80% cardio and 20% weight lifting. GNCC's run for 3hrs. The OMA series that I have been competing in only runs 2 hrs and 30 min. I can typically run 2.5 hrs while holding a good race pace. But you would be surprised how much harder that extra 30 minutes feels on your legs, back, tore open callouses, and arms. So i need to be prepared for the full 3 hr race. The last 2 weeks consisted of 2 hours of non stop riding at 100% speed then the gym for another 2 hrs in a day all focused around a good diet. Well tomorrow is Thursday. 4 days until the big race. Im going to take the next 3 days off and relax my body, hydrate, and keep eating my carbs for stored energy. To win the 200A class this year would be a great accomplishment to mark up on the wall! Ill let you know how things go on Monday!
