The sunline shift lever isn't only intended to just throw on your bike just because you broke off your stock one. This lever replaces the stock shifter with a more sturdy alloy shifter with folding tip at a lower cost than original stock equipment! Its forged aluminum body not only saves weight, but keeps it looking fresh as ever!
Scale: (worst) 1-5 (best)
Fitting: 4
Durability: 5
Cost Benefit: 3.5
When I first replaced my stock shifter with the sunline shifter, it fit nice and snug. it tucked in by the cases much better than my stock one did. Well as I went out on my practice laps the day before my race, i noticed that shifting from 1st to 2nd wasn't going so smoothly. It would stick in 1st and not shift up. I pulled off and realized it was just simply set to high on shaft. Looks can be deceiving. It looked as if it was in the perfect position. I set the shifter one notch down on the shaft. After that, everything was preemo!! Also since the shifter tucks in more, its less prone to getting snagged on a rock or something obstructive. All in all, i was very impressed with the shifter. I highly advise going out and replacing your stock shift lever!
