So I was railin' this turn track the other day. Everything was going good! Some peg scrapeage and bar draging. The usual. Well after a while I noticed that my KTM 200XC sounded faster than I was actually going. It wasn't pulling as hard as it should have. First thought....time for a new clutch!
I have always ran an after market clutch in my bike. Theres nothing wrong with stock, just personal prefrence. Well I decided to run a DP Clutch setup in my bike. DP fibers, steels and springs. I leave the basket stock. I installed the clutch and my bike pulled as if it were new!
INSTALATION
**BEFORE ANYTHING, PRE-SOKE THE PLATES IN OIL UNTIL YOUR READY TO INSTALL!
1) Remove the 4 bolts that hold on the clutch cover.
2) Remove the 4 bolts that hold the springs in place, along with the springs themselves.
3) Take off the clutch basket cover and remove the fiber and steel clutch plates. *Be sure to remember what order they go in! EX: fiber, steel, fiber, steel.
4) Put the new plates in the basket in the order they came out.
5) Put the basket cover back on and put in the new springs.
6) Put the clutch cover back on and put the 4 bolts back in with non-permenant locktite. (the blue kind)
7) Go Shred!
*SIGNS THAT YOUR CLUTCH IS GOING OUT*
Anytime that you get on the gas and your bike hits high RPM's but you are barely moving then your clutch is slipping and its time to throw in a new one!
