PVMs website was a joke and i didnt feel like fooling with it at the moment of researching

These are all the MSRP Prices and My shop is going to start carring some of the brands so all the research on each wheel im putting up

Hopefully someone else puts some more info on more wheels and or experiances with each brand. Ive never heard much of anything in the negative side of things on any of the companys i listed. As for the carbon fiber wheels, they arent worth a shit so im not even waisting my time posting anything about them.

Maybe I missinterpreted the whole budget spirit of this class.... Damn racing is sooo expensive... I just threw in a 99'R6 front end with rim included and a SV650 Rear...total cost "Free" kinda helped I had the parts in the back of the garage. ;)

What did it take to put the SV rear wheel on the bike? What bike do you have?

its a 1999 sv650 rear rim with an 99'r6 custom machined cush drive... machining cost me a six pack of Becks at a friends shop. :D

my bike is a long neglected but now dearly loved 1999 yz400f...in know im giving up over 10% displacement but until this series gets really serious next year...then i'll get a Spanking new bike...learning the tricks of the trade with this one so I dont make the same mistakes later.

Now that I think about it..my bike is ALL 1999 technology...

Galespeed make 450 wheels for Yam and Suz - $1800 set

Does the SV rear wheel work on most 450's? How easy?

3.5" and 5" wide 17" wheels have been produced by the millions and are available in 3, 5, 6 and more spoke design from many production bikes.
I know it will take some machining and adapting, but I can't see myself spending $2K on wheels when the whole idea is to have an inexpensive entry-level class...

If you're into wining championship and money is no object, then by all means buy what your heart desires, but with so many alternatives out there, you can have a very decent set for less than $500.

Cheers,
Marco

Info is available at our site GPtech llc (US importer for Galespeed)www.gptechllc.com
OR
the Active website (manf of Galespeed wheels) www.acv.co.jp

I have specific weights for any combo wheel set.

Also:
Costs could be saved using an oem front wheel with a Galespeed rear wheel. Sometimes you can find front ends complete with wheel for less than $600

Here are the specs for YZ450 and R6 front wheels (people wanted to know if the YZ front crossed over to other models)
The bearings are removable and the spacers are captive - different wheel spacers could be made to work with other bike combos.

YZ front wheel
The total width is 108mm (the end of the spacer at brake disc side to the end of the bearing at speed meter gear side).
The width between the end of the spacer to the surface of the brake disc carrier is 9.9mm.
Axle diameter is 20mm.
Brake disc mounting info : 6 holes, M6 bolt, disc mounting pitch 134mm, brake disc inner diameter 118mm

R6 front wheel
160mm wide – total width with spacers
116mm wide- without spacers
21.9mm - axle dia
5 bolt disc mounting

Galespeed makes supermoto specific wheels for Suz, Yam, Husq. They manufacture wheels for all sportbike models so any front combo could work. They also make mini wheels for NSR and Monkey bikes.
