Well the first round of the District 15 harescrambles got kicked under way today in Plymouth, IN. Sunny skies, warm weather, smell of VP 110 octane race fuel, cute girls. What more can you ask for?! :D Well the day got under way with the mini's. 85's and 65's running together. Both of my brothers were in each class. Alex racing 85's and Mike who raced 65's. Both pulled off the big number 1!! MY TURN! Sitting on the line, I knew what had to be done. I knew my fitness was probably better than anyone else on the front row. Green flag raised, 10 second cue, PIN IT TO WIN IT! I thought i had the whole shot until some guy on a yz250 from Illinois came outa no where! The first lap we checked out! I knew he was going to be a fast contender so i had to take any chance I had. That chance happend on the second lap right after the check. He dabbed his foot and stutter steped a little and I held it wiiiiide open and made the transition from 2nd to 1st! For about 3 laps, we were probably a nobby width apart. It was INTENSE! It was hard to hold him in the grass track section because his yz250 pulled my ktm200 all day long! We had some sick turn track battles. im pretty sure I scrapped my bars once or twice! Bitchin...i know! haha. Well the white flag came out, and my dad asked if I need gas via pit board. I nod no. Illinois wasn't in a threatening position so it probably would have been smart to stop. (im not smart :)) About a mile after the check I go to lay it over to rail this corner and my bike just bogs like non other! I reached down and throw it to reserve. The whole last lap I had to go as fast as I could without keeping it revved out over 70,000 RPM :D. Luckily Illinois wasnt in a threatening position so I was able to ride the last lap smooth and steady. I came in for the last time to take the checkered flag. 1st District race, 1st overall win of the year. I'm pretty stoked! My two little brother's also took the number 1 spot! In the 65 and 85 class which is sick, cuz we dominated the whole day!!! Look for mine and my little brothers interview and some pictures in The next issue of Cycle USA! :D PEACE!
