The Grand Prix Commission, which comprises of Dorna Chairman Carmelo Ezpeleta, the FIM's Claude Danis, IRTA's Herve Poncharal and the MSMA's Takanao Tsubouchi, implemented some changes to the MotoGP regulations in a meeting held today in at the FIM headquarters in Mies, Switzerland.
In addition to a change in the weekend schedule that shortened the practice sessions for MotoGP down to 45 minutes, the following changes were also made in an effort to cut costs:
* From the Czech GP (August 16) on, a maximum of five engines can be used in eight races. No changing of parts
will be permitted except daily maintenance.
* Ceramic composite materials are not permitted for brake discs or pads.
* Launch control systems are not permitted.
* Electronically controlled suspensions are not permitted.
* Only two post-race tests at Catalunya and Czech GP for development purposes using test
riders only are permitted.
