Following the unexpected withdrawal of a major series partner, Red Bull has made the tough decision to discontinue the Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup series in 2009. This choice was not easy, as the program saw thrilling racing action and rider development in its groundbreaking inaugural U.S. season. Two American riders will still be featured on the grid in 2009, as both Benny Solis and Hayden Gillim qualified for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup which will continue in Europe with a schedule of 6 races...

However, Red Bull would like to acknowledge the 24 riders who qualified for the 2009 season:
